iPhone Jailbreaking Voids Warranty

iPhone Jailbreaking

If you break it, it buy it. That’s the ever famous sign we see on supermarkets which gives us a caution in handling breakable items on their shelf. On the flip side, Apple can have their slogan which can read “Jailbreak at your own risk”, that can go along their new patent on their gadgets.

Focusing on iPhone, Apple submitted a motion of exclusive rights that is against Jailbreaking or cracking into their device’s software which enables restrictions in installing and downloading files that were not officially from the company. In-short, they are considering your iPhone’s warranty invalid if the device was proven to be cracked or jailbroken.

jailbreaking-is-illegal

Apple has a very valid reason for the claim. This is to protect their consumer’s private information and files once their iPhone is stolen or lost. Upon reporting that the device has been lost or stolen, then Apple can upload or copy all of the data from the owner’s phone to the company’s distant file servers. After successfully duplicating the files to their storage, data from source will be deleted automatically to ensure further safety of the phone owner’s sensitive info.

Going deeper to what was included on Apple’s submitted patent is their capability of shutting down remotely diagnosed iPhones which passed the jailbreaking process.  They surely have the capability of monitoring activities from their devices, e.g. sim card removal, memory ramp and usage. If Apple can extract data from an out-of-the-box gadget, then there is no doubt that they can also do this even if an iPhone has been unlocked or has been reprogrammed. Their partner AT&T can also be part of the process and can hold back certain services once the culprit device has been detected.

Along with Apples proposition, jailbreaking was given freedom by the U.S government. That means that this process can be performed not only specific to iPhones but also with other products for educational purposes. Even official statics wouldn’t show up, reality is that there is an increasing number of jailbroken iPhones not only within U.S and UK but also around the world.

Apart from earning more money with its app store and controlled content, Apple’s reason for the implementation is to ensure that user’s privacy and security will not be at risk. After that being said, are you in favour of this new disclaimer/warranty statement from Apple?

Typing Real-time Gives You Real-Time Search Results

Google Search

While tubing, I found this great video showing how the search results in Google updates as you key in on the search box. Amazing?

Being the first to implement the suggested search keywords, now the video was showing leading to another milestone that this search goliath wants to go. Currently, you punch some keys on its search box and suggestion of keywords will appear along with the number of search results it has. That’s the true sense of technology, to make things simpler and effective.

For now all that we know is the video is for real but not implemented yet.  That net vid teaser shows an experiment that every development in the web should take to ensure bug free working capability when unveiled to the public. As the video showed, it ran smoothly and showed renewed resulted every key filled in the search box.

Google Search

Google dev team usually select a group of people to test their new innovations. It is the same thing they did when they unveiled Google Wave, where they gave initial accounts to all who attended their beta release.  Their dev team also stated is not specific to a specific location, it can be random which means that your office mate next to your desk may be looking at a beta function and you   were still using the old one.

There is an article on their blog site which was posted by their Search User Experience and Product Manager Ambar Pansari and Marissa Mayer, VP, Search Products and User Experience which was talking about testing new additions to their ever popular search engine. This means that on their end, assessments on every analysis data are very crucial to help them improve their user’s search experience.

About the new search feature that updates every keystroke punched in, it is obvious that it uses the same technology behind their search keyword suggestion. AJAX or Asynchronous JavaScript and XML is what is responsible for letting keywords shows automatically when you type.  Programmers understand it better, but for not so techie guys out there, it just means that AJAX allows you to see updates and processing on the web page without the page re-opening or refreshing.

User search experience is really important to Google that’s why it always considers the user’s preference things that users might want implemented. Just like a customer service rep doing things just even before the customer ask for it. So don’t be surprised if one time you are one of the individuals out of the 50 to 200 search experiments that Google is doing which was announced by Google Spokesperson, Gabriel Stricker.

Twitter

Have you ever wondered what’s hot on Twitter’s nest? I may not be hooked and in-love with the blue bird but I would like to share what’s fresh and what’s on the top 10.

What The Trend’s site showed a top 10 list of topics which dominates the Twitter fever.  I would like to start with group on the bottom part of the list which was grabbed by Jonas Brothers and Canadian wonder talent, Justin Drew Bieber.

Indonesia who just celebrated their day of independence last August 17, 2010 gained its top 8 place. It can be also one of the reasons why Twitter’s activity gained bits in the Southeast Asian region. Still in Asia, Korea’s Super Junior ranked 7th who’s fans might be screaming and singing along while writing their tweets.

All star cast movie The Expendables who gathered Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Bruce Willis and the gang. The $35M weekend earning, it is now on the 6th place. A contrast to a star studded movie is at number 5, Dona Delma Hoax made it to every end of people’s tweet.

Twitter

The sport which made Spain really famous was pinned the 3rd place, the 2010 Copa Libertadores which ended August 18 could have been the reason for the fame. Right below, we have another film, Leonardo DiCarpio’s Inception which was released back in July really deserved to be on the higher half, not to mention the 564 million dollars international box office gross.

Saving the sweet 2nd spot is for Brazilian Politics, yet dirty as always, their presidency candidates Dilma Rousseff and José Serra has made it to the point where they became as talk of the town and the net. Going to the top of the list, is another movie ladies and gentlemen. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World starring Michael Cera is Twitter’s number 1 trend. Even if it is only worth 14 million starting August 13 when it was released, then this fantasy slash Sci-fi movie have really gained popularity.

That completes our list and for the upcoming weeks, I am sure that this catalogue will surely have a lot of modification, some may be making their way fresh or some can sit relax on where they’re currently seated.

G2 Glimpse At last?

HTC Vision

I know, I know, my last post about T-Mobile G2 with Google may have been letting you search for what it could look like. Pictures are all around trying to match it with the shape that was posted on T-Mobile’s site to rag our eyes.

Another image again had surfaced the web which was posted first by Engadget can be the G2 or can be another wrong prediction. What the pictures is an HTC Vision, carrying a 1 Ghz processor, a full QWERTY Keypad that shows when you slide the body from the side, and runs the Android Éclair (2.1) operating system. The stated specifications were all preliminary as of this moment, but will let you know once the accurate details show up.

T-Mobile G2

The image showed was really eye-catching. How it slide and show its keypad and the stylish keypad. It may be a dream come true for all who were on the waiting list, but not a soul outside T-Mobile can really tell what’s to come next.

Curiosity is at its peek with this new device to be T-Mobile’s pet to handle their swanked HSPA+ connection which is said to level benchmarks with the 4G. A teaser page was showed and now gizmo freaks and gadget gurus were all out for the hunt, but the waiting will soon be over since the big surprise may happen next month for the device’s unveiling. That might be the time to add 1 to your G1 and let your upgrade decision sum up to G2.

I hate the waiting game and I know a lot of you guys are really feeling the same way. My own idea is that G2 will not be just a phone but a bar raiser. It can’t be worth of the teaser page, the image guessing, the soon to be announced debut and the speed of network that it will run if it will just be a second best. After all of this, I want to write an article on how good this phone is, but I don’t want to expect much and would advice you the same.

An idea had crossed my mind but not the model of phone G2 is going to be like. Don’t you think that it is more worth the wait if T-Mobile will run a contest like ‘What could G2 look like?’ and have the phone as their prize, sweet!

Share Bookmarklet

No more copy and paste for your favorite links for tweeting. That is what the new Twitter share button is all about. This simple innovation makes link tweeting simple and the good thing is that you go straight to their site to do it. A lot of clients functions the same and offer the same convenience, but using Tweeter’s own is more trustworthy.

For fishing and malware issues, every link is being abbreviated using the t.co scheme which is a Twitter’s way of shortening the links. This is feature offers the same results that were aligned with microblogging sites standard. If ever you encountered this particular scenario, then you don’t really have to worry since the original link that you tweeted has been wrapped in a t.co link.

Understanding the security measure behind it, then it is now time for you to try. It is really simple, just go to Tweeter and search “Share Bookmarklet” then go to the page and add the “Share on Twitter” shortcut on your bookmark or favorites and behold, you will be link tweeting in no time. Once it’s there, click it and it will prompt you to login and the rest is tweetstory.

Twitter Button

Techies out there will surely know how this thing works, but just for some who would like to know, behind this addition to your favorite’s bar will run a JavaScript when clicked. Just don’t ask me further on the scripting part, for all I know is that it will also let you write some text along with the link that you were about to post.

Some would think that this move from Twitter is just a mediocre of other sites or clients ingenuity. Maybe so simple that Twitter might have overlook at it before or the company’s developers were just so busy making backups, coding new improvements and maintaining the sites uptime for your tweets to be available for your followers. Right after the release of their Twitter Button, now you have a shortcut that clips to your browser.

Since every tweet is about letting others know, you might want to try using the Share Bookmarklet then try it while reading this article. Just a thought that your followers might be interested, what you think?

It is not only the viewing experience that will change with this app. It also adds Facebook and Twitter interaction as if you were just in the same movie house with friends. The duo’s vision is clear that Teevox will soon expand its horizon to different podiums other than iPhone and iPad and will give more capabilities for end-users to interact with sites less the hustle of downloading extra applications and plugins to enjoy their features.

Right now, their team is keeping the mum about the specifics but who knows, we might be enjoying more of other sites to offer at our own hands with our own precious handhelds.
